Current Projects
We currently have several workers involved in projects at MAP. We run a group with Children's Services called 'Kids in Care Together' (KICT) a regular meeting of young people in care who share their experiences and get involved in projects within the community. Our young father's project worker Andy Wood runs a drop in for young fathers every Thursday for lunch, relaxation and a chance to share experiences with other young fathers. The young fathers also created a play about their experiences 'Against the Wall' held at a conference in December in London which proved so popular they were invited to perform around the country. More such projects are planned for the future. Linda Street runs sexual health workshops both on an outreach basis at hostels and schools, and here at MAP; raising awareness of STI's, helping young people make an informed choice, and holding fun exercises with an educational focus. Our partnership projects are still going strong, with the Norfolk Family Learning Programme delivering two courses 'Happy Families' and ICT skills here at MAP, as well as youth workers from Children's Services running projects in the drop in like arts and healthy living. We also have held popular dance and drama workshops, yoga groups, and plan to make use of an allotment soon.
